BEYLORUSSIANS PRODUCED A NEW SECURITY SYSTEM FOR NOTEBOOK

Specialists at a computer research institute in Beylorussia developed a way to prevent illegal access to laptop computers, according to information released by the Embassy of Beylorussia in Moscow to Izvestia.

According to deputy research coordinator of the institute Vladimir Vitar, the new system can ensure a full protection of information, deny illegal access and enable selective use of the laptop computer functions. Personal identification data e.g. finger prints or voice samples can be used as a password key. All information stored in the machine will be automatically deleted in case of illegal entry to the computer (damage to integrity of the frame, top cover removal, unauthorized use of CD-ROM drive). Illegal copying of computer data by means of E-field radiation devices can also be prevented by the new system. Similar security systems were developed in the past only for desktop computers.

Beylorussian specialists are the first on the world computer market to have developed program software for use in the laptop computers. The new system can be of interest to businessmen, bankers and special services. According to designers of the system, it underwent a series of tests which proved that technological approaches taken during the development had been correct.
