One of Runet?s well-known game projects, the Fight Club, has been temporarily shut down due to emergency situation. Unconfirmed reports say that one of the players opted for a score settlement for real in lieu of fighting on the Web. Therefore the game was suspended and ?mourning was declared? as by notice put on the site.
The Fight Club administration declined to give any details of the incident. The resource main page reads: ?A person was beaten up in his real life, it doesn?t matter who it was, by whom he was beaten up, where it happened or what the reasons are...? Probably, the story began when one club member had insulted the other one. The same notice warns that ?the use of swear words will be regarded as one of the most serious breaches of the club rules when the Fight Club is back on.?
The membership of those ?transferring the game situations into the real life? will be canceled. The game is a step-by-step online hand-to-hand fight simulator in a medieval fantasy setting. According to top.mail.ru counter, about 100 thousands users log in the site daily. It was reportedly nominated for the 2003 National Internet prize as ?The Discovery of the Year.? The site administration declared mourning and shut down the game for three days when the award eventually went to another project, as reported by Lenta.Ru.
